"Halston" tells the story of the life and times of fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick, a man who wanted to "dress all of America."

Acclaimed director Frédéric Tcheng ("Dior and I") skillfully weaves together rare archival footage and intimate interviews with Halston's friends, family and collaborators, including Liza Minnelli, Halston's niece Lesley Frowick, director Joel Schumacher and the Halstonettes (Halston's favorite models).

Tcheng tells Halston's story in the form of an investigation, in which actor and writer Tavi Gevinson appears in filmed scenes as a young archivist who examines the paperwork of Halston's company. The viewer sees behind big media slogans and the exciting battle between the fashion designer's creations and the interests of big companies.

The film tells the story of Halston's empire and influence on the world of fashion, culture and business, America's first fashion superstar and the personification of the social and sexual revolution of the last century.

Fashion editor Anu Merila will make an introduction to the film screenings.
